Hello all, and welcome to the Tavern
Times, The Official Newsletter of the Cock &
Pullet Pub and Mavericks Gaming Hall.
Accounting Department
So far this year, we have raised $130.00 for
Camp Moore. Philip Gallanders has donated $100.00 for seed
money to start the year, and the dealers or Mavericks got
together on New years Eve at the Frankl hacienda in Chatsworth
for a friendly game of poker and raised another $20.00 to
add to the pot.
Our goal for the 2006 year is $2500.00.
Raffle Prizes
This year we are going to have a few raffle prizes for our
donation to Camp Moore. We will be raffling off a quilt made
by Cindy Robertson, and also a miniature Mavericks
and Cock & Pullet Pub.The
raffle tickets will sell for $3.00 per ticket or two tickets
for $5.00. We will be selling them at all events, and will
draw the winning ticket at our last event preceding our annual
trip to Camp Moore. We will also be raffling off a second Miniature
Cock & Pullet Pub and Mavericks,
and the donations for that Prize will go to the Russell
Kevin Miller Memorial Scholarship.
The tickets for the quilt will sell for $ 5.00 each or 5
tickets for $ 20.00.
It was determined that the raffle prize drawing will be after
the Fresno event in October.
2006 Meeting of The Cock and
Pullet Plank Owners
and Maverick's Gaming Hall
The meeting was held Philip Gallanders’
home.
Those in attendance were:
Maverick Miller, Busted Flush Gallanders,
Chris “the Brew master” Benintende, Sam “the
Enforcer” Frankl, Richard “trick card”
Holaday, Mitch “Mumbles” Zankich, Jim “the
shill” Tebbetts, Miss Anne Tebbetts-Frankl, Miss Charlene
Zankich, and Miss Theresa Rodriguez.
A recap of last year was presented, and a hearty
“THANK YOU” was relayed from the good Folk at
Camp Moore to all the members.
It was decided that the Cock
& Pullet Pub and
Maverick’s Gaming Hall would be under
the umbrella of WBSHA for tax purposes. All Monies collected
would be turned over to WBSHA at the end of each event, to
be kept in a separate account, and said funds would then be
delivered at the end of the season to Camp Moore in the form
of a single check drawn from the WBSHA separate account.
The 2006 events for the Cock

Maverick’s Gaming Hall are

that the NCWA is proposing a possible “Reenactors only
Weekend” at Tres Pinos. If they do schedule this
event, we have been pre-invited to bring the Cock
& Pullet Pub and Maverick’s
Gaming Hall to this event.
The persona development of each person associated with the
Cock & Pullet Pub and
Maverick’s Gaming Hall
was discussed and it was asked that each person work on developing
their own character that is consistent with the person they
portray while working at the Pub or the Tables. As each member
submits a history of their persona, I shall publish it in
the Tavern Times
(space permitting in each Newsletter until they are all published).
The idea of home brewed Root Beer or Sarsaparilla
was raised and it was decided that Jim “the shill”
Tebbetts and Chris “the Brew Master” Benintende
would look into the cost of brewing the items to have for
sale to the public and reenactors during “public times”
at events. As the cost and the availability of these products
come available, you will be notified in the Newsletter.
What's Brewing
This is to be a regular article from our Brew
Master, Mr. Chris Benintende. In it, he plans to give us an
update on what he plans to be making for the upcoming events
as far as his choice of Ales, Stouts, and Miscellaneous Adult
Beverages. I am looking forward to his first article, and
his input in this Newsletter.
